Social Scene Vice

One thing that all social scenes, regardless of how prolific or discreet, have in common.

HYPOCRISY

The ambiguous term stated above would mean a great many different things to different individuals. To some, it could be the act of dispensing petty gossip, while displaying a falsely positively-opinionated front. To others, it is the ultimate betrayal of trust.

However, what most people do not realise is that hypocrisy materialises due to the all-too-human desire to please everyone. Let's say if the group of people you're hanging out with have issues with person A, you would most likely act like you do too, even if person A has never offended you. It's a deadly sin called peer-pressure. It is astonishingly rare for people to stand up for person A, for fear of making a bad impression.

Given this scenario, the question we should ask ourselves would be "Does honesty really pay?"
